This is a very simple - but very useful - jig. It's made to hold dowels in place under my drill press.
I've also used it when drilling into metal conduit and PVC pipe... anything cylindrical. I just
cut some wood with 45-degree edges and placed them facing each other to hold the dowels. They are attached
to a long base so that I have plenty of room to clamp the jig to my drill press tabletop. I also added some
smaller spacers between the angled pieces for two reasons. First, this spreads them out and allows for more
support when working with longer dowels. Second, it provides some gaps for the wood shavings to go when
drilling multiple holes along the workpiece. Again, simple, but very helpful in many projects!
